Vegetable juices and your skin

  • Carrot juice for acne

Carrot juice is high in antioxidants and vitamin A, which help clear acne. Vitamin A also helps to heal the skin from damage caused by sun exposure. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene and potassium as well, both of which can improve your complexion. Another idea is making a face mask from the leftover pulp as the skin can absorb the nutrients if applied topically.

  • Beetroot juice for eczema

Beetroot juice is a type of vegetable juice that may help people with eczema. A study found beetroot had a positive effect in alleviating the symptoms associated with eczema, such as itching, dryness, inflammation and redness. It does this by having an anti-inflammatory effect on both skin cells and immune responses. Beetroot also has strong antioxidant effects which neutralize free radicals that can damage healthy tissue leading to inflammatory conditions like psoriasis or dermatitis.

  • Benefit of ginger for the skin

Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits but it also helps clear up acne. Ginger can reduce the oil that skin secretes which often leads to spots. It also significantly reduces bacteria on the surface of the skin. Adding ginger to your juices not only gives them a tangy flavour but also benefits your skin.

  • Turmeric

Turmeric is a lovely yellow root and has been used to spice foods for hundreds of years. It can also heal wounds and soothe inflammation. In fact, it was traditionally applied directly over open wounds as an analgesic without any negative side effects! It's no surprise then that turmeric can also be good for your skin. It calms the redness and reduces the swelling caused by acne flare-ups
